Present fascinating research and case studies that provide information about the “Verbal Logical Explainer” (VLE) – the part of our brain/mind whose job it is to explain why we feel the way we do.
Give a research-based definition of psychological trauma, and show how trauma interacts with the VLE to produce sometimes comical, sometimes costly misinterpretations of our life experiences. These interpretations then have tremendous impact on our relationships and many other aspects of our lives.
Describe several steps we can take to limit the damage of unresolved traumatic memories and the associated VLE misinterpretations.
NOTE: We will be video and audio recording this seminar:
We're holding this event at Calvary Way International Fellowship's recording studio, which can hold a maximum studio audience of 60 people. We'd love to have you come and be a part of recording this material for further distribution -- but please do not register if you are not comfortable with the following: 1) Everyone will need to sign a release, giving permission for us to use any film footage of you, as part of the audience, that gets in to the final edited version of the material. 2) Anyone with a persistent noise issue, such as a hacking cough, will need to leave the studio, to avoid making the noise a permanent part of the recording.
Presenter
Karl Lehman, M.D., Psychiatrist

Lectures with illustrative PowerPoint slides
Some time for questions and answers, depending on how smoothly the recording goes
Note that this seminar will not provide any ministry opportunities, but will be limited to the lecture/educational aspect of the healing journey!
